Ingredients
- 3–4 Lb. pork butt (bone-in or boneless)
- 2 Tbsp. smoky spice blend (page 185)
- 2 Tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil
- 1 Large onion, diced
- 1⁄4 Cup tomato paste
- 1⁄4 Cup coconut aminos
- 2 Cups bone broth (page 188 or 189)

Season pork butt with Smoky Spice Blend and salt.

In a hot skillet, melt tablespoon coconut oil and sear seasoned pork bu on each side until golden brown. Transfer pork bu to crockpot.

In the same pan, sauté onions, tomato paste, and coconut aminos for a couple minutes until onions are so and flavors develop.

Place onion mixture in the crockpot on top of pork butt. Add broth.

Turn crockpot on and cook 6–8 hours on low. Pork butt should be fork-tender and easily shredded when done. Time will vary depending on crockpot setting.
