Instant Asparagus Snack

This low-calorie vegetable is a powerhouse of fiber, folate, vitamins, A, C, and K. Known for detoxifying properties, this green has shown properties ranging from aiding digestion, healthy pregnancies and lowering blood pressure. Add to omelets, and saute as a tasty and benefit loaded side dish.

Cook time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb asparagus - cleaned, trimmed
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp garlic-infused olive oil
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  1. With a knife, cut o the woody part of asparagus stem, that is white and tough. Cut rest of asparagus into equal lengths pieces.

  2. Place the steamer basket into the Instant Pot and pour the water.

  3. Place the asparagus onto the steamer basket.

  4. Sprinkle the asparagus with olive oil and onion powder.

  5. Lock lid into place and set on the STEAMING setting for 3 minutes.

  6. When the timer beeps, press “Cancel” and carefully flip the Quick Release valve to let the pressure out.

  7. Open the lid and adjust salt and pepper.
